New ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP delivers complete DisplayPort compatibility in Windows XP and Vista
(openPR) – HONG KONG – Aug. 5, 2008 – ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd., a leading NVIDIA partner, today announced it is fully embracing DisplayPort technology with the new ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP. The ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP pairs DisplayPort technology with the blazing-fast NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT graphics processor for a powerful combination ready to accept current displays and next-generation models with complete compatibility in Windows XP, Vista and BIOS level operation.
The new ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP packs a single DisplayPort connector capable of extreme HD gaming resolutions of 2560×1600. DisplayPort also outputs audio, allowing users to simultaneous send audio and video signals over a single DisplayPort cable.
“DisplayPort is the next logical evolution of display connectivity. We’re fully embracing DisplayPort technology to provide our users with a flexible future-proof solution that is compatible with all of their current and future display needs,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd.
The ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP packs an array of digital and analog video outputs in addition to DisplayPort. Dual dual-link DVI outputs allow the ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP to drive displays with resolutions up to 2560×1600.
A single HDMI output allows the ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP to simultaneous output digital audio and video signals over a single HDMI capable, allowing users to connect their high-definition monitors and televisions with ease. VGA and HDTV output connectors are also installed for compatibility with existing monitors and televisions without digital video input connectors.
“We like to give our users extreme flexibility when it comes to connectivity. Equipping the ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP with a plethora of digital and analog video outputs allows our users to attach nearly any type of display they please, from TVs to older monitors,” Mr. Berger added.
The ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP also packs a S/PDIF audio input connector for audio pass-through via DisplayPort and HDMI connectors. The S/PDIF audio input accepts all digital audio sources from sound cards and motherboards that feature S/PDIF audio outputs, allowing users to take advantage of high-definition audio solutions.
The ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP is also fully compatible with Windows XP and Vista operating systems and able to display the system BIOS, enabling a seamless and transparent transition to DisplayPort displays.
“Our R&D team took extra time to ensure our ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP would operate under Windows XP and Windows Vista. It was also important that users would experience no hiccups or differences when switching over to DisplayPort, which is why our ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP is able to display the motherboard BIOS settings screen without having to connect a DVI or VGA display,” Mr. Berger said.
In addition to delivering a flexible array of video outputs, the ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP still packs a performance punch for extreme high-definition gaming. The ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP is powered by NVIDIA’s Unified architecture with 64 screaming-fast stream processors.
Each ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP is equipped with 512MB of high-speed GDDR3 memory connected to the graphics processor via an ultra-wide 256-bit interface, allowing 3D textures and data to flow through the CPU and GPU smoothly and speedily.
If more power is desired, the ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP supports NVIDIA SLI technology. SLI technology allows users to add a second ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT-series graphics card to achieve greater performance.
Second-generation PureVideo HD technology allows the ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT DP to deliver first-rate video playback performance in the latest high-definition Blu-ray titles. Standard-definition content is enhanced with high-quality filters and smoothing algorithms to provide a near-high-definition image.
