The technology will be featured in interchangeable single lens reflex (SLR) camera lens planned for commercial release before the end of 2009.
Several different preventative methods and corrective procedures have been introduced to compensate for errors caused by camera shake, which occurs when a camera moves while its shutter is open and its image sensor is exposed to light.
Canon began researching methods to compensate for camera shake in the 1980s, and in 1995 launched the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, the world’s first interchangeable SLR camera lens …

Standard Compact of the Year: SAMSUNG NV24

This is the single biggest category in cameras, but models like the wide-angle, HDTV-compatible Samsung NV24 keep it interesting.
What do you call a digital camera that’s neither an SLR nor a superzoom nor an “ultraslim” compact? For lack of a sexier term, we’ve settled on standard compact. That makes these cameras sound like photography’s version of the sensible sedan, but in fact this is the biggest category in cameras, spanning everything from $50 bubble-pack specials to the sophisticated models here, this year’s top choices.
Smaller than superzoom compacts, standard compacts accommodate more features and overall imaging power than their ultraslim cousins. Some even accept accessories from their makers’ D-SLR systems, such as hotshoe-mount flashes and off-camera …

Sony Alpha DSLR-A900

Sony makes a point of not calling this a “professional” camera, instead referring to it as the “flagship” model of its dSLR line. However, it’s priced like a pro model, and its full-frame competitors–the Nikon D700 and the Canon EOS 5D Mark II–are widely, though not exclusively, used by professionals. Finally, with such a high-resolution sensor you need a really sharp, preferably fast lens such as the Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8 we tested it with; lenses such as that are expensive and generally out of reach for all but professionals.
Furthermore, Sony provides some of the most innovative and pro-friendly accessories we’ve seen, such as its sideways rotating HVL-F42AM flash and VG-C90AM battery grip, which almost exactly …

Compared to many professional-grade cameras, the G10 is super small, yet packed with a variety of customizable features for professional photography. This camera is best suited for ’serious amateur’ photographers and also beginners in professional photography.
One of my favorite features of the new Canon Powershot G10 14.7MP digital camera is its good looks. The design is reminiscence of the classic film camera design that is extremely cool, retro and would never be out of style. The controls are very conveniently laid out and feel …
